We are seeking a Certified Industrial Hygienist with experience working on environmental remediation projects. The successful candidate must also be AHERA certified with experience in asbestos removal during building renovation, demolition and at remediation sites.

 

The candidate may work from any one of several ITSI office locations across the country including but not limited to Lakewood, CO; Baltimore, MD; Los Alamos, NM; Oak Ridge, TN, Tempe, AZ; Homestead, FL; San Antonio, TX and Walnut Creek, CA.

 

Responsibilities include the following:

• Enhance, maintain and ensure implementation of ITSI’s H&S programs
• Manage ITSI’s asbestos program
• Develop and conduct H&S training including Hazwoper refresher, respirator training, confined space, etc.
• Work closely with the Corporate Director, H&S as well as other H&S professionals, corporate management and company staff in managing H&S functions
• Review and approve H&S related plans for new work including remediation and vertical construction projects
• Conduct project H&S Audits
• Assist subcontractors and teaming partners with H&S issues in order to ensure the implementation of best practices at our jobsites.
• Act as the program H&S Manager for many of ITSI’s IDIQ programs DOD programs.

Experience Requirements:

• 5 to 10 years industrial hygiene experience in the environmental remediation and/or construction area.
• 1 to 2 years in managing corporate H&S programs and systems
• 3 to 5 years experience conducting surveys, planning, providing oversight of asbestos related projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• CIH certification required
• AHERA Asbestos Building Inspector, Management Planner, Contractor/Supervisor required.
• Current certification in 29 CFR 1910.120, HAZWOPER
• Department of Defense and/or EPA experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of OSHA and environmental regulations, including RCRA, NESHAPs and TSCA and EM-385.
• Working knowledge of Workers' Compensation and relevant State regulations
• Ability to travel 30%
