Senior Estimator

About the Job
Primary Function:
The Senior Estimator will lead and support the design, planning and execution of proposals for construction opportunities. Depending on the type of opportunity, the Senior Estimator’s involvement will vary from initial bid preparation only, to ongoing review and support of long-term projects. Ideal candidates will have past experience and success in managing all aspects of the proposal process. In addition, candidates’ background should include customer interaction, and the creation of proposal response including management of complex proposals and bid analysis. The Senior Estimator should also be competent in understanding, evaluating and communicating matters regarding the technical scope of work and have the ability to organize and delegate tasks associated with proposal development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Execute teaming, bid, pricing, and proposal strategies in accordance with company strategy, practices and goals;
•    Assess internal pricing strategies and performance against goals;
•    Support Business Development activities as required;
•    Continue education by attending conferences, seminars, and online training;
•    Initiate and participate in the Bid/No Bid decision-making process;
•    Determine potential resources necessary for pursuit and proposal development;
•    Consistently review essential elements of proposal creation to increase bid/win ratio;
•    Develop written Proposals and Statements of Work;
•    Review documents prepared by other team members;
•    Manage the proposal life cycle process (RFP to Proposal to Award to Project Handoff);
•    Maintain communications with distributors, manufacturers and partners;

Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience Required:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of technical training and/or experience;
•    BICSI RCDD certification preferred;
•    Proven experience working with teams; in a leadership and support role;
•    Effective written and verbal communication skills to successfully interact with various levels of stakeholders to include field personnel, customers, and executives;
•    Proficient in the use of computers and software necessary to perform job functions;
•    Experience with strategic decision-making in regards to Estimating and Proposal development;
•    Ability to analyze information, develop budgets, control costs, develop and maintain vendor relationships, run reports, utilize effective estimating techniques, effective documentation skills and quality focused are essential;
